Lofton Turns 24, Celebrates During Downtime
February 24, 2010
After making his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Daytona International Speedway on February 13th, Justin Lofton has taken advantage of the break in the racing schedule by spending time with his biggest supporters. Early last week, he boarded a plane and headed west, returning to his native California. On the 18th, Lofton celebrated his 24th birthday with family and friends.
Since he's usually the one that his family members watch as he partakes in his racing endeavors, it was Justin this time that enjoyed some downtime and played the spectator, as he soaked up the California sun and watched his grandfather play in the Annual Lettuce Tournament at the Del Rio Country Club. From there, he headed to Fontana, and watched the Nationwide Series event at Auto Club Speedway on Saturday. Though the trucks weren't on track, Lofton couldn't block racing out completely, as he headed to the speedway to watch a few of his friends race.
He also stayed busy with his side project, Weekend Warriors TV, as the trio of Lofton, his sister Brittany and friend Brett, launched two episodes within the last two weeks.
After returning to North Carolina after a hectic but fun-filled week with his family, the now 24-year-old Lofton has shifted his focus back to his racing and his season behind the wheel of the No. 7 Toyota.
Later this week Lofton and crew chief Mark Rette will visit the wind tunnel as they prepare for the next event at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 6th.
This weekend, Lofton and his crew will head south to Atlanta, but not for the upcoming race, but rather to play the role of spectator yet again, as they take in an AMA Supercross event.
